Public Use Computers

Internet computers (both branches)and dedicated Word Processing Computers (Windows PC, Main only) are available for public use.

To use the dedicatedWord Processing computers at the Main Library, you must check in at the desk. No library card is required for use of the word processing computers. Print-outs are 10 cents a page and you must provide your own floppy disk, CD-ROM or flash drive for saving, you cannot save to the hard drive. You must abide by posted usage guidelines. Usage may be limited to 2 hour blocks in busy periods and computers are first come first serve. There is no Internet access on the Word Processing computers. Word Processing computers are currently equipped with the Office 2007 Suite.

To use the Internet computers you must have a library card from either Three Rivers Public Library or from a Prairie Area Library System member library [and have a clean library record] . If you have a card from outside this area or outside the state enquire at the desk for a one time guest pass. You must abide by the posted user agreements. Security is limited and all usage of the computers is done via your own risk. Due to federal act, all Three Rivers Public Library District computers are filtered. Persons over the age of 18 may ask the desk to remove the filters on their computer, unfortunately we cannot take the filters down for persons under 18 not under constant adult supervision. Those under 18 must have written in-person permission for a parent or guardian to use the computers. Children under 7 must be accompanied at all times at the computers by a parent or adult caregiver. The Internet usage agreement must be read and signed by a parent or guardian. Printouts are ten cents a piece and your own disk, CD-ROM or flash drive must be used if you are downloading files. We have discs available for $1 and flash drives for $9. We do not allow saving or downloading to our hard drives. Usage is limited to two hours, you can make a reservations for a computer via our PC reservation system. Library Internet computers are currently equipped with Internet Explorer, Office 2007 and Adobe Reader.

Wi Fi Hotspot

Wireless Internet is available at both branches and there are public access electrical plugs for laptops.
