Looking for a job? Researching careers? Preparing to take a job skills test? Three Rivers Library has a variety of resources to help you in all of your career goals.

Books:

Both branches offer a variety of books on careers, resumes, and interviewing skills.

For career research, look in 331.702

For resume help, look in 650.14

For interviewing, look in 650.14

Online Resources:

Tutor.com offers homework help for kids, but did you know it also offers help for adult learners? Brush up on job skills, prepare for the GED and even get help with your resume. Tutor.com is open daily from 2pm-11pm and is free with your Three Rivers Library card.

Learning Express Library offers test prep for nursing, EMTs, commercial driver's licenses, civil service, cosmetology, firefighters, law enforcement, military, allied health, real estate, teaching, as well as the GED, US Citizenship and various academic tests. Learning Express also offers courses and information on business writing, resumes, interviewing, job searching, computer programs and skills improvement. All for free with your Three Rivers Library card. Just register following the directions on the site.
 
Career Transitions is a complete, self-paced application that walks job-seekers through the entire process from assessing strengths and interests, to exploring new opportunities, to ultimately improving the chances of landing a job.

Illinois WorkNet: Illinois Worknet directs you to information on changing careers, finding jobs, gaining the training you need, furthering education and unemployment assistance.
 
Glass Door: A comprehensive career resource with information on 26,000+ companies including salaries, reviews and actual interview questions. Free access.

Grundy County Workforce and Workforce of Will County provide training, advice, job leads, even business clothing.

Illinois Department of Employment Security: IDES is your direct link to Illinois workforce services: job placement and referrals, unemployment insurance, employment and training programs, career and labor market information, payroll tax filing, and more.

YouthFutures: Think of Youthfutures as a very smart online search engine dedicated to your future. Better yet, think of it as a good friend with connections. If you need help, Youthfutures is where you’ll find it — from specialized technology training to family support to health services and much more.
