Winter Reading 2012- Chill Out @ Your Library

Chill out @ Your Library with our Winter Reading Program
for adults and teens, 12 years and up (for Three Rivers card holders only).Saturday, January 14 - Saturday, February 25Keep track of your winter reading online and automatically be notified when reading goals are reached or your name is drawn for a raffle prize. You will receive a packet of hot chocolate for signing up for the program, and a prize after reading 5 books.*There will also be random drawings and a grand prize "Booklovers Basket" drawn at the end of the program. So the more you read, the better chance you have of winning!*Only books, audio books or e-books count.Register here starting January 14th, or on our Winter Reading Page !

We now have tax forms out at both library locations, and will get more throughout January. Travel Savvy
Come learn some of the tricks, products, guidelines, and resources Cynthia Clampitt, writer, photographer, and food historian, has discovered for traveling. Learn how she saved money, cut risks, reduced hassles, and had more fun when she was on the road- liberally sprinkled with tales of adventures from Paris to Mongolia to
downtown Chicago. The program includes a lot of information for international travel, but there will be useful tips for anyone who leaves the house, even if you’re just headed for the backyard. Registration Required.Saturday, March 10

Exercise for Your Life
The Nationally Certified Personal Trainers from Metabolic Fitness Management LLC will be here to talk about the importance of cardiovascular exercise for heart health. You will find out more about cardiovascular endurance, stamina, and caloric burn for weight loss, including the different target heart rate zones and how to develop a good cardio regiment
for any fitness goal. They will also cover the importance of resistance/strength training, including increasing bone density, improving functional strength, and building lean body mass to increase metabolic rate. There will be representatives from Peak Fitness in Minooka, and the Morris Athletic Club on hand to answer questions. Registration Required.Wednesday, March 28

Dressed in period attire, Bob Welch performs songs of the Civil War period, singing and accompanying himself on guitar
