Position Available at Minooka Branch

We are now accepting applications for a part-time library clerk position at our Minooka Branch. High school diploma required. Additional schooling, computer, library or office experience a plus. Job includes morning, evening and some weekend hours between 20-25 hours a week. Information and applications are available at the main desk at both branches. Application deadline is October 11.

What's Happening in Your Community?
  • Salad Bar Luncheon: Sept 25 from 11:30am to 1pm at the Elwood Community Church. Cost will be $6, for more information call 815-423-5113.
  • Worldwide Day of Play: Sept 27 from 2 to 4pm at the Community Park in Channahon, enjoy a free event and try out various games and activities.
  • Will County Take Back the Night: Oct 2 beginning at 5:30pm at the Joliet West High School. For more information, call 815-729-0930 ext 233.
  • Channahon Village Wide Garage Sales: Oct 2-4. Maps will be available while supplies last at the Main Library, the Municipal Center and online.
  • CPR for Family and Friends: Oct 4 at 8am at the Minooka Fire Department, this is a joint class sponsored by both the Channahon and Minooka Fire Departments, register on the Channahon Fire Department's website.
  • Save our American Raptors: Presentation at the Dollinger Pumpkin Farm on Oct 5.
  • Save our Park Walk: Oct 5 starting at 12:30pm at the Channahon State Park to protest the closing of the Channahon State Park. For more information call 815-467-6644.
  • Diane Ippel: Hammer Dulcimer Presentation at the Dollinger Pumpkin Farm on Oct 4.
  • Channahon Fire Protection District Open House: Oct 11 from Noon to 3pm at Channahon Fire House 1.
  • Adults Only Skating Party: Oct 11 from 7pm to 10pm at Skateland Recreation Center. Cost is $5 plus skate rental.
  • Northern Exposure Chainsaw Sculpting: at the Dollinger Pumpkin Farm on Oct 11.
  • The Music of Mark Dvorak: at the Dollinger Pumpkin Farm on Oct 12.
  • Get Science: Demonstrations at the Dollinger Pumpkin Farm on Oct 13.
  • Hayride, Campfire and Haunted Walk: Oct 17 from 6:30pm to 9pm at Channahon's Community Park. This event is free.
  • Heritage Crossing Fall Craft Show: Oct 18 from 9am to 3pm at the Heritage Crossing Field House. Admission is $1.
  • Civil War Days Re-Enactment: Oct 18-19 at the Dollinger Pumpkin Farm. There is an admission charge for the battle reenactments at 2pm each day ($4 adults, $2 children), all other events are free.
  • Special Olympics Trivia Night Fundraiser: The Channahon and Minooka Police Departments are sponsoring this trivia night fundraiser for Special Olympics on Oct 18 from 6pm to 11pm at the Fountains of Minooka. Contact CSO Dan McDonald at 815-467-5152 for more information.
