What's Happening in Your Community?
  • Summer Reading is going on at the Three Rivers Public Library for all ages, you can sign up at either branch!
  • Summer Movie: "Transformers" will be shown at the Minooka Intermediate School's baseball diamond on June 28. Kid's activities start at 6pm with the movie at 8pm.
  • Pork Chop Dinner: June 28 from 4pm to 7pm at the Minooka Community High School, sponsored by the Minooka Police Department to raise funds for the Illinois Special Olympics. $10 for a two chop dinner, $8 for one chop. Tickets can be purchased through the Police Department.
  • Independence Day Celebration: July 4 at Community Park in Channahon. The fun starts at 6pm and concludes with a fireworks display at 9:15pm, activities include a parade, ice cream giveaway, face painting, a concert and more, see site for details. This is a free event.
  • Kids' Garage Sale: July 12 from 9am-Noon. Kids from 1st to 8th grade are eligible to sell their merchandise at this event, registration deadline is July 10, there is a charge for a booth. The sale is open to the public for free.
  • Minooka Garden Walk: July 13 from 1pm to 5pm, six beautiful gardens in the Minooka/Channahon area will be showcased. Tickets are $10. For more information call 815-467-6331.
  • Flick and Float: July 16 at dusk at the Tomahawk Aquatic Center in Channahon, watch the movie Surf's Up while enjoying the pool. The cost is $2.50 for park district residents/$4.50 for non-residents at the door. This event is for all ages, those under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Antique Tractor, Steam Engine and Gas Engine Show: July 17-20 at Dollinger Farms. Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for kids 11 and under.

CD and Book Sale at the Main Library

We have a great deal of used books for sale at the Main Library. Come on in and stock up! Children's books are 15 cents each and adult and teen books are on sale for $1 a bag!
We also have an assortment of used music CDs for sale for $1 each at the Main Library. Come and check out our selection!

What's Happening in Your Community?
  • Adult and Junior High Summer Reading is going on at the Three Rivers Public Library, you can sign up at either branch!
  • Children's Summer Reading starts June 13 at the Three Rivers Public Library! You can sign up at either branch or at our Skateland program from 1pm to 3pm.
  • Pork Chop Dinner: June 14 from 3pm to 7pm at the Channahon United Methodist Church. $8 for one dinner or $10 for two. For reservations call 815-467-5275.
  • Movie in the Park: "Bee Movie" will be playing on the big screen in Central Park in Channahon on June 20 at dusk. The movie is free, concessions will be available.
  • Community Health Fair: June 21 from 10am to 2pm at Cardinal Fitness Center in Channahon.

What's Happening at the Library?

  • Adult and Junior High Summer Reading is underway! Adult summer reading is for adults and high school aged teens. Read 4 books and get a water bottle, read 8 and get a tote bag. Junior High Summer Reading is for kids entering the 5th through 8th grades in the fall. For reading 4 books you get a pair of sports clappers, for 8 books you'll receive a set of super soaker balls and 12 books gets you a gym bag. Both reading programs also offer monthly prize drawings!
  • Children's summer reading begins on Friday, June 13 with the BMX Flatland Show at Skateland Recreation Center from 1pm to 3pm. This will be followed by a free skate (concessions and skate rental are an additional charge). You can also sign up for the summer reading program at any time at either library starting June 13.
  • For our little sluggers Ms. Tracy will be holding lapsits for babies and toddlers from birth to age 3. The lapsits will be on Wednesdays at 10am at the Main Library starting on June 11 (no lapsit on July 2) and ending on August 6.
  • Xtreme Library Camp is for kids entering 3rd through 5th grades in the fall. This has a separate sign up. Registration is required and space is limited. We will be having two sessions this year a morning session from 10am to Noon and an afternoon session from 1pm to 3pm. Sign up begins June 13. Camp will be held on the following Tuesdays: June 17, June 24, July 8 and July 15.
