What's Happening in Your Community?
  • Blood Drive: December 1 from 7:30am to Noon at the Minooka Jr. High School, sponsored by the Knights of Columbus of St. Mary's of Minooka. Appointments are preferred, call John at 815-521-1970.
  • "Baby It's Cold Outside" Baby Product Drive: From now until December 20, the Minooka Community High School's National Honor Society is asking the community to donate new baby products for the children staying at the Lamb's Fold shelter in Joliet. You may bring your donations to the Main office. For more information call Donna Engel at 467-2140 ext 164.
  • Joliet Junior College Winter Band Concert: December 2 at 3pm at the Fine Arts Theatre on the Main Campus. For more information, contact Charles Morgan at 815-280-2223.
  • Dog Days at Skateland: Bring your dog for a run inside at Skateland. All dogs must be current on shots. Upcoming dog days are December 6 and December 20: Dogs under 35 pounds are allowed from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, larger dogs from 7:40pm to 8:40pm.
  • Minooka Community Tree Lighting Ceremony: December 6 at 6pm at the Village Hall.
  • Madri-Gala 2007: The Fine Arts Department at Joliet Junior College will present Madri-Gala 2007: Something Olde, Something Yule on December 7 in the dining hall and Fine Arts Theatre on the Main Campus. A wassail reception will begin at 6:45pm with the gala beginning at 7:30pm. Reservations are required by December 3. For more information and to reserve call 815-280-2223.
  • Breakfast with Santa: December 8 from 8am to 10am at Heritage Bluffs Golf Club Clubhouse. Registration is required cost is $6 res/$8 non-res. Registration deadline is November 30.
  • Santa's Skating Party: December 8 from 2 to 4pm at Skateland Recreation Center. Cost in advance is $5 res/$6 non-res, $7 at the door. One free adult per child, includes skate rental.
  • Pet Pictures with Santa: December 8 at 4:30pm at Skateland Recreation Center. Cost is $3 per photo.
  • Christmas Cookie Sale: December 8 at the Channahon United Methodist Church. A tin is $10. Call 467-5275.
  • Madrigal Dinner: December 8 and December 9 at Minooka Community High School Cafetorium. Tickets are $20 per adult, $15 senior citizen/student, $10 for children under 10. Reservations are due by December 4. Call 815-467-2140 ext 232 to reserve.
  • Santa's Workshop: December 9 from 9am to 11:30am at Minooka Elementary. Handcrafted items and other gifts will be sold by the Minooka Federated Woman's Club.
  • Carols and Chocolate: The Joliet Junior College Chorale presents it's 6th annual Carols and Chocolate concert on December 9 at 3pm at the Fine Arts Theatre on the Main Campus. Following the concert, enjoy a chocolate buffet. For more information call 815-280-2225.
  • Guitar and Percussion Winter Concert: December 11 at 7:30pm at the Fine Arts Theatre at Joliet Junior College. For more information call 815-280-2223.

We are open today our normal hours: Main 9am-9pm, Branch 10am-8pm. We will be closed Thanksgiving Day and open on Friday our normal hours Main 9am-6pm, Branch 1pm-6pm. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!

What's Happening in Your Community?

  • Roast Pork Dinner: November 10 from 4pm to 7pm at the Elwood Community Church. Cost is $8.50 for adults and $4 for children over 5. Call 815-423-5115.
  • Dog Days at Skateland: Bring your dog for a run inside at Skateland. All dogs must be current on shots. Upcoming dog days are November 15 and December 6: Dogs under 35 pounds are allowed from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, larger dogs from 7:40pm to 8:40pm.
  • Turkey Bowling Tournament: Sign up your team of 5 to participate in this event on Saturday November 17 at Skateland Recreation Center. Cost in advance per team is $20 Res/$25 Non-Res, $30 day of.
  • Money Management Seminar: November 27 at 5pm at the Minooka Branch library. To register call Nancy at 815-260-6069.
