What's Happening in Your Community?
  • Trick or Treat Hours: Channahon 4pm to 7pm, Minooka 4pm to 7pm, Elwood 4pm to 6pm, Unincorporated Will and Grundy counties: 4pm to 6pm.
  • Dog Days at Skateland: Bring your dog for a run inside at Skateland. All dogs must be current on shots. Dog days for November are November 1 and November 15: Dogs under 35 pounds are allowed from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, larger dogs from 7:40pm to 8:40pm.
  • Minooka Community High School Fall Play: "The Lady of the House" will be performed on November 2 and November 3. Tickets will be available at the door $6 for adults, $5 non MCHS students/senior citizens, free for MCHS students with id.
  • Turkey Dinner: Channahon United Methodist Church on November 3 at 4:30, 5, 5:30, 6, 6:30 and 7pm. Dinner is $10 and is served family style. Call 815-467-5275 or 815-467-5225.
  • JTHS Multicultural Club Craft Show: November 3 from 10am to 3pm at the Joliet Township West High School. Admission is free. Call 815-744-6153 for more information.
  • Pancake Breakfast: Sunday November 4 from 9am to Noon at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Channahon. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children aged 3 to 11, maximum family cost is $20. Call 815-467-5433.
  • MCHS Community Coffee: Thursday, November 8 at 8:15am at the MCHS Career Center. For more information call 815-467-2140 ext 179.
  • Holiday House Walk and Craft Show: Saturday November 10 from 9am-5pm. Tickets to the house walk will be $10 and are available from Minooka High School students, the MCHS choir boosters, local businesses and local village halls. Five houses in Channahon and Shorewood will be decorated for the walk and the Minooka Community High School Cafetorium will be open with a craft show, baked goods, raffle and lunch bar. The Craft Show is open from 9am-3pm and the events at the high school are free. Music will be provided by the high school Madrigals.
  • Turkey Bowling Tournament: Sign up your team of 5 to participate in this event on Saturday November 17 at Skateland Recreation Center. Cost in advance per team is $20 Res/$25 Non-Res, $30 day of.

What's Happening in Your Community?
  • Civil War Days: October 20-21 at Dollinger Farms. Reenactments and activities. There is an admission charge of $4 for adults, $2 kids charged for viewing the battle reenactment which is held at 2pm both days. Rest of the event is free.
  • Swiss Steak Dinner: Elwood Community Church. October 20, 4pm to 7pm. Cost is $8.50 for adults, $5 children, children under 5 are free.
  • Heritage Crossing Craft Show: October 20 from 9am to 3pm at the Heritage Crossing Fieldhouse in Channahon. Admission is $1.
  • Halloween Late Skate: October 26 at Skateland from 6pm to Midnight, all ages. Admission is $8 plus rental fees.
  • Halloween Happenings: October 27 from 3pm to 5pm (with the dog costume contest at 5:30pm) at the Heritage Crossing Field House in Channahon. Activities, games and a costume contest.
  • Murder Mystery Show and Dinner: October 27 from 6pm to 9pm. Cost is $30 and includes show and dinner. Cash bar available. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
  • Dave Herzog Marionettes: October 28 at 2pm, Dollinger Pumpkin Farm.
  • Rock and Read Halloween Party: October 28 from 2pm to 5pm at the Minooka Community High School Cafetorium. National Honor Society members will be in costume and reading children's books to area children. All area children are welcome to attend, the event is free, but donations of children's books for the University of Illinois-Chicago pediatric clinic are encouraged.
