Catalog Update

Things are currently on schedule for our catalog upgrade. Here are some important facts you need to know (dates subject to change):
  • Holds are still suspended until April 9.
  • From April 1 to April 9: We will not be receiving deliveries from other libraries, therefore we will not be receiving books from other libraries for open holds, delivery will resume when the system is up.
  • From April 1 to April 8: You will not be able to review your account or renew items online. Please call the library to renew your items and have your date slip or items available.
  • From April 1 to April 8: We will not be issuing new or replacement library cards.
  • From April 1 to April 8: Please make sure you bring your library card to the library to check out, especially if you visit other libraries. Most area libraries are also undergoing upgrades and they will not be able to look up your library card. It will be difficult for us to do so and impossible for other libraries.
  • From April 1 to April 8: The card catalog will be available for searching, however records will be frozen as of March 31 (so on shelf listings may not be correct). If there is a book you need, we suggest you give us a call before hand so that we can make sure it's on the shelf for you.

Thank you so much for your continued patience! Our patrons have been wonderful during this time and we know the new card catalog system will be worth all of the dust!! We hope to see it live on April 9!!

Also remember we will be closed on Good Friday April 6 and Easter April 9.

Hold Suspension and Other Catalog Issues
Our library catalog is in the process of a merger with several other libraries. Soon we will have a new card catalog that will allow you an even wider access to materials then presently. However, in order to faciliate this, there will be some bumps along the road. The card catalog is scheduled to debut at the beginning of April, so in order to make the merger smooth, there will be some down time. We have restricted access to the cataloging system at present, so there may be a delay in the availability of certain titles. We are making the most popular items a priority.
Also we will be unable to place holds on materials from March 17 to April 8. Any holds placed before March 17 will still be filled.
You may continue to search the catalog during this time, though there will be some periods of downtime at the beginning of April, we will keep you informed.
We thank you for your patience and understanding during this time!
